Genetic test.  Immunity

Our defence

The immune system is made up of highly complex processes that work continuously to protect us from pathogens and toxins in the environment. It is essential to keep it healthy and modulate its function to promote our health.

What is analysed in this test?

INMUNOgenes evaluates polymorphisms in genes that affect both processes related to inflammation and oxidative stress situations and the capacity of individual immune response to infections, with a special focus on respiratory viral infections.

The genes studied are part of processes related to the mechanisms of the immune response: inflammatory cytokines, antioxidant enzymes, interferons and their transcription factors, pathogen receptors, among others. Genes that modulate vitamin requirements such as receptors or enzymes that synthesise the active form of these substances are also analysed. All genes and their polymorphisms have been selected from a review of more than 150 scientific publications.

Objectives

The aim is to establish a personalised risk of alterations in the immune processes and susceptibility to infections that will allow us to recommend specific prevention guidelines. It also offers an insight into the personalised requirements of vitamins A, B, C and D in order to best support the immune system.
